Watch this webinar to review key concepts in forest restoration projects, including their management and phases, with practical examples from reforestation efforts in Pego (Alicante) and Valverde del Camino (Huelva). The session is led by Jorge Castañer Pla, forest engineer and expert in sustainable forest management and Nature-Based Solutions.
The first Desert Leaves webinar focused on the design, planning, management, and goals of reforestation projects in the Mediterranean, using the Pego project in Alicante as a case study. Speakers from the Generalitat Valenciana, Pego Viu, and Desert Leaves shared insights from the Pego experience and its application to future projects.
Pego Viu, in collaboration with Desert Leaves, organized a volunteer tree planting event at the site of our project in Pego. Thank you all for this very good moment we shared all together!
This conference, supported by the Generalitat Valenciana, brought together CSR professionals to explore the role of public-private collaboration in the fight against climate change through reforestation. Experts presented international and national compensation mechanisms, successful collaboration programs and case studies of business-supported reforestation projects.
Desert Leaves, Reforest, the Generalitat Valenciana, and the Universitat Politècnica de València organized a knowledge transfer event aimed at sharing academic and technical advances with forest managers and technical staff working in dryland areas of Spain. The symposium addressed key issues at the intersection of these challenges, with a particular focus on how restoration techniques can—and should—respond effectively to them.
