Our Mission
To increase and disseminate knowledge about forests and forestation in dryland regions, to connect and support people and organizations around the globe that are involved in dryland afforestation and forest preservation, and thus to support initiatives that pursuit the growth of sustainable forests in drylands.
Our Vision
We believe that increasing both the quality and quantity of forests in drylands is an answer to many of the major challenges facing our planet. Forests play a vital role in supporting biodiversity, mitigating climate change, and sustaining the livelihoods of local communities. Desert Leaves aims to be a trusted partner for all stakeholders involved in afforestation, reforestation, and forest protection in dryland areas.

Our People

Wim is an agricultural engineer with master's degrees in energy management and business administration. He has dedicated most of his career to the energy transition, and has supported nature conservation since his youth.
Fieke specializes in building partnerships with local communities and coordinating reforestation projects. She brings over 20 years of experience working with international NGOs across the globe.
Stephani is a Community Manager. She manages our social media presence, designs visual content for both print and digital campaigns, and ensures clear and consistent brand communication across all platforms.
Adeline is a Software Engineer who built this website. She also contributes new ideas for sponsorship and educational tools, supports communication with IT solutions, and helps organize planting events.
